Person Profile

Elena is leading researcher at Center of informatiоn optical technologies in ITMO University. From 2019 to 2021, she served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in City University of Hong Kong. Elena is the author of 104 publications indexed by Web of Science (H index =23). From 2018, she participated in 3 international (UK, Hong Kong, and Germany) and 4 Russian scientific projects as researcher. Elena has received several awards, including the “L’Oreal-UNESCO “For women in science” (2021) and “Grant of the Russian President for young scientists” (2017-2018). Currently, she runs 2 projects funded by Priority 2030 Federal Academic Leadership Program and Russian Science Foundation.

From 2021 she is head of laboratory “Light-emissive carbоn nanostructures” with focus оn R&D of novel nanostructured materials for a wide spectrum of applications from biomedicine to photovoltaics. Her group consists of 4 Postdocs with background in Chemistry, Spectroscopy, and Theoretical modeling, and 5 PhD students. The research interests of the group include development of emissive bio-compatible labels, sensing probes for environmental monitoring and food industry, and auxiliary nanoparticles for improvement of photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices.
