Development of metal nanostructure and functional nanocomposites

In our laboratory, we produce the metallic nanostructures on different substrates. For this purpose we employ a special vacuum chamber. In this chamber different substances including refractory substances are heated to the so high temperatures that they start to evaporate. When the vapor reaches the substrate, it condenses and forms the droplets. The droplets cool down and form the nanoparticles. To control the deposition process with the aid of laser illumination of the substrate the vacuum chamber is equipped with optical windows. The same windows are used to monitor the deposition process. The obtained nanostructures are used for development of nanocomposites with the organic dyes, semiconductor quantum dots, and carbon nanotubes.
